Peter Paetkau

Teaching Assistant Longy School of Music

Peter Paetkau is a recent graduate of Goshen College in Northern Indiana where he studied Music, Religion, and Spanish and is currently attending the Longy School of Music where he is a student of Anna Williams. As an orchestral, chamber, and solo musician, he has performed in a variety of venues across Canada, USA, Peru, and in Europe. He has attended a number of festivals including the Schlern International Music Festival and the Pacific Region International Summer Music Academy where he performed and studied withrenowned musicians including Alexander Brusilovsky, Vladimir Landsman, Soyoung Yoon, Arthur Arnold, and others.
During his time in Indiana, he performed with a number of local orchestras and chamber ensembles including solo performances with the Goshen CollegeSymphony Orchestra where he also acted as concert master. Paetkau has worked in a variety of educational settings including coaching sectionals, orchestral rehearsals, and chamber ensembles. He has also taught lessons both for groups and individuals over awide range of abilities and ages. His passion for music as an emotional and communicative art drives his teaching and performing practice. Paetkau’s past teachers have included Rosalyn Trianno, Solomia Soroka, and Jameson Cooper of the Euclid Quartet.
